In the third part of the interview with Mark Gerhard by MMOHUB, Mark reveales some information on the current state of the game. Basically they do not want to reveal too much to avoid disappointment, which is understandable but it keeps us fans into the dark. Just read the quote below for the good stuff.
For all intents and purposes the game is done. It’s finished, in testing, and working. But we’re in testing and going, “What if we change this…” I suppose we’re so excited about what the end result can be that we’re tolerating all these changes in 11th hour so to speak. There’s nothing really arbitrary, ti’s all things we think will really help gameplay or make it more fun. I do expect it to be released in 2009, but it’s hard to guarantee these as I’m sure you know. The Studio is however doing a fantastic job and working tirelessly to get the game awesome and ready for Beta.

MMOHUB released the second part of their interview with Mark Gerhard, nothing really about MechScape. Part 3 of the interview will hopefully tell us some new information on MechScape. Part 3 will be released on: Friday, at 9AM PST
There’s also things we’ve done while building our other MMO “MechScape,” like particle effects and specula lighting, and it’s like “Well now that we have those why not put them into magic effects [in RuneScape]?” So I do expect in the next year a lot of things will be re-prioritized to focus on the players and improving the game. They tell us what they enjoy, and we’ll make more of it.

Yesterday MMOHUB released part 1 of an interview with Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard. Part 1 of the interview basically gives you some insight on Mark Gerhard, his history with the company and the decisions he made. The current part doesn’t go into any detail about MechScape, but part 3 will feature some of the other projects by Jagex including MechScape (as you can read below). Hopefully this will finally give us some more information on the game. Tomorrow MMOHUB will publish part 2, maybe they’ll publish part 3 another two days later.
The free-to-play MMORPG “RuneScape” is a very popular game. When its parent company — Jagex — announced that they had a new CEO coming on board after years of the same people in charge, gamers were a little apprehensive.
Last week, I spoke with Jagex’s new CEO, Mark Gerhard. We had a nice chat, covering topics all over the spectrum. In our three part series, you’ll be able to see what we talked about in relation to his history and his new job (part 1), their popular free-to-play MMORPG “RuneScape” and its future (part 2), and Jagex’s other projects, such as “MechScape” (part 3).
In this first part of the three part interview series, you’ll be able to learn more about who Mark is, where he’s come from, how Jagex works, and how Mark wants to change its perception in the gaming sphere.
